Absolutely. I currently boycott Wal-Mart and all Wal-Mart corporate stores (Sam's, Neighborhood Market). My reasoning is multifaceted, including the numerous bad business practice charges over the years, the tendency to roll into small towns and while providing jobs on one hand, essentially running locally owned and operated businesses right out of town, plus the sheer torture of actually shopping in a Wal-Mart - long lines, filthy floors, etc. Our family was calling the local WM "hell" before we even decided to stop shopping there. One day I finally realized that saving 10 cents on a bottle of shampoo just was not worth the misery of shopping there, much less supporting this retail behemoth in its bid for world domination.

My name is Danger. At least that is what my foster-dad is calling me. He says it is because I am dangerous to his resolve to NOT keep me. :) The nice man that took care of my hurt foot said I was probably around 1 year old. Foster-mom thinks I may be a Red Heeler mix, but no one knows for sure. I just want another dog or young person to play with. I am very sweet and affectionate. I love everyone and everything. Mom and Dad have cats. I really want to play tag with them, but most of them just ignore me. Mom says I still need to be neutered, whatever that means, but that my shots and care for my hurt foot are taken care of. Mom keeps saying she would love to give me a home, but that I need somewhere more fun, and someplace with more time for just me. Do you know anyone that would love me and play with me?

Your result for The What type of MAN turns you on Test...
Tough guy
You scored 60% masculine, 65% athletic, 27% exotic, and 50% refined!

You love men, you love testosterone and you know it. You like a bad-ass man who knows what he wants. He isn't what you might bring home to mom but I don't think it really matters - he's hot! Someone like.....Vin Diesel. But let's face it, the whole point of this was to look at a bunch of hot guys. If you liked what you saw, please rate my test!

Your result for The Sorting Hat Test...
Ravenpuff
You scored 63% Order/Chaos, and 49% Moral/Rational

Orderly with a moral/rational split. You probably try to follow the rules and do things in an organized manner, but in the arena of morality you are in the middle between a black and white philosophy and complete relativism. Your strengths arise from the fact that you can understand a broad range of points of view because of your position on the moral spectrum and ability to organize information; however, these things may also turn on you when everyone thinks you are sympathizing with the "other side".
The 4-grid I used to determine this is as follows:

Hubby and I replaced all of our Christmas lights with LED lights this year, and I now have a multitude of perfectly good non-led light strands to give away. There is an assortment of mini colored lights, mini white lights and C9 white lights, plus one "tree-trunk" net of white. Anyone interested?
Sweet lover-boy Ren has FOUND A NEW HOME!!! Ren is the flamepoint Siamese that tested FeLV positive a year ago, and so ended up here, and then when I did bloodwork on him this year, tested negative. Doc said he had likely been exposed recently at the time of the first test and his body threw it off.
Anyway he has lived here in his own bedroom for over a year - he just would not get along with the rest of the zoo. He is to lovey to live alone like that with only a short bit of human interaction every day. A lady came over to look at Jack and Robin (the boy storm-drain kittens) but they acted very frightened and feralish at the strangers in their room. I asked her if she would consider an adult, and showed her Ren. It was love at first sight, I think! She has one other male cat (Ren is worse with females) and one small dog, plus her elderly father who loves cats. She took Ren over the weekend and called last night to say all was working out. Some hissing between the cats but nothing aggressive. I told her if that ever changed he could come back here, but I think she'll keep him!! He never had much trouble when one or two of the other boy cats here would go in his room to visit - I think we just have too high of a stress level with this many cats. I bet he will do fine in a lower population home. (Is it sad to say it that way - I have enough cats to call it a population!)
So a happy farewell to Ren (aka Renfield, Renfest) and best wishes in your new home!

We have had a Costco membershp for several years now. Mind you, I flat refuse to shop at Wal Mart or any of their subsidiary stores (Sam's, Neighborhood Market, etc.) I feel that they have too many questionable business practices. I do try to keep up on the press - both positive and negative - for the stores I frequent, and this is an article that highlights some of the reasons I will spend my money at Costco:

This adorable young man was found trying to work his way up at a local Sonic. He is now performing his "I am the cutest" act at a local vet clinic, but still has not managed to procure permanent lodgings. He is healthy, curious, and ultimately entertaining! Does anyone know a great place for "Sonic" to live?
stats: male, intact, about 4 months old, first two rounds of kitten vaccines are completed.
Spent part of today out at Pirate Days in The Colony with
Kittens were a mess tonight. Tabby definitely has diarrhea. Can't tell if the other two do or not since I have not tried to pick them up yet. I was able to pet the pretty grey one tonight though, without getting bitten or scratched. Granted I had on gloves to be safe, but he/she was pretty good. The black one decided that I was the face of evil tonight and would not let me pet him/her without the unwelcome addition of teeth and claws.
Overall though, these 3 are nowhere near as nasty as Rikki, Tikki, and Tavi were, and they turned out to be loverboys. :) I have high hopes for success. (Depending on what is causing the diarrhea and how much of a social setback medicating them is going to be. :/)

It is normal for stray cats/kittens to have worms as well as upset tummies, but this was really bad.
We will be heading to the vet in the a.m. with the calm one to get her checked out and see if she is wormy.

They are eating everything in sight - poor hungry babies.
The little tabby is a girl, and is quite social. I am a bit concerned about her health. She seems to be almost too placid, and her body felt a bit warmer than it should when I held her. Of course, their temps are naturally higher than ours and will increase if they get nervous, so it could be nothing. She is a sweety, let me pick her up and hold and snuggle her without any problems...even purring, and I think I felt one paw trying to make a biscuit on me. :) I just hope she is healthy.
The black one (still gender unknown) will offer a warning hiss or two, and slap me if I move too fast, but ultimately will let me pet him/her, slowly on the back only.
The grey one is terrified still, but does not hiss when I reach in the cage - only if I get closer than 3-4 inches to him/her. (I was able to pick up the water bowl while he/she was lying next to it)
I am confident the black and tabby will socialize easily, and that the grey one will eventually.
As an interesting side note, we picked them up on Thursday the 16th, which happens to be National Feral Cat Day! :D
